전 시 명: Warm Window기 간 : 2025년 12월 15일 부터 2025년 12월 31일 까지운영시간 : 오후 5:00 부터 오전 4:00 까지참여작가: 미디어아트팀 D.cus(디지털 서커스) — 최재호, 허재혁장 소 : 갤러리 잔느 (청주시 서원구 사직대로 298-1) 겨울의 거리는 차갑고 어둡다. 당신은 코트 깃을 세우고, 시야를 좁힌 채 목적지만을 향해 빠르게 걸어간다. 하지만 잠시 걸음을 멈추고 주변을 돌아보는 순간, 당신을 위해 준비한 작은 선물을 발견할지도 모른다.Warm Window는 차가운 겨울 거리 위에서 잠시 멈춰 선 이들에게 작은 온기를 건네는 인터랙티브 설치 작품이다. 불 꺼진 장난감 가게를 떠올리게 하는 어두운 쇼윈도우 속 크리스마스 오브제들은 관람객의 존재에 반응해 하나씩 빛을 밝히며, 방치된 공간에 서서히 온기를 채워 넣는다.갤러리 쇼윈도우 옆 모니터 화면을 바라보면, 카메라가 당신의 존재를 인식한다. 화면 속에는 어둠에 잠긴 크리스마스 방이 펼쳐져 있고, 당신의 몸은 빛의 입자로 변환되어 그 방 안에 투사된다. 당신의 움직임에 따라 빛의 입자가 움직인다. 빛을 움직여 크리스마스 등불에 가져가 잠시 머물면, 등불에 온기가 스며들 듯 본연의 색을 서서히 찾아가며 불이 켜진다. 그 순간, 화면 너머 실제 갤러리 쇼윈도우 안의 크리스마스 조명에도 불이 켜지며 따뜻한 빛이 퍼진다.크리스마스 등불, 별 장식, 크리스마스 트리 하나씩 당신의 빛이 번지는 과정은 마치 무채색의 공간에 크리스마스의 색을 하나둘씩 되찾아주는 것과 같다. 마지막으로 선물 상자에 빛을 전하면, 화면 속 방 전체가 환하게 밝아지며 갤러리 쇼윈도우 안에도 어느새 완성된 따뜻한 크리스마스 풍경이 펼쳐진다. 당신이 만들어낸 그 따뜻한 장면은 이제 거리를 지나는 또 다른 누군가의 걸음을 멈추게 하고, 차가운 겨울 거리에 작은 온기와 행복을 건넬 것이다.이 작품에서 기술은 전면에 드러나지 않는다. 관람객은 별도의 장치를 조작하지 않으며, 자신의 존재와 움직임만으로 공간에 변화를 만들어낸다. 화면 속 빛이 되어 오브제를 밝히는 행위는 단순한 인터랙션을 넘어, 누군가의 관심과 머무름이 세상에 온기를 더할 수 있다는 감각적 경험을 제안한다. Warm Window는 지나치기 쉬운 겨울밤의 쇼윈도우를 관객과 거리, 디지털과 물리적 공간이 만나는 따뜻한 접점으로 변환한다. Winter streets are cold and dark. You raise your collar, narrow your gaze, and walk briskly toward your destination. But in the moment you pause and look around, you may discover a small gift prepared just for you.Warm Window is an interactive installation that offers a gentle warmth to those who stop, however briefly, on the cold winter street. Christmas objects inside a darkened shop window — reminiscent of a toy store after closing — light up one by one in response to the viewer's presence, gradually filling an abandoned space with warmth.When you look at the monitor beside the gallery shop window, a camera recognizes your presence. On screen, a Christmas room lies shrouded in darkness, and your body is projected into it as particles of light. The particles of light move with your movement. Guide the light to the Christmas lantern and linger for a moment — as if warmth were seeping in, the lantern slowly recovers its original color and ignites. At that instant, the Christmas lights inside the actual gallery shop window beyond the screen also come to life, spreading a warm glow.Christmas lantern, star ornament, Christmas tree — the process of your light spreading from one object to the next is like restoring the colors of Christmas, one by one, to a monochrome space. When you finally bring your light to the gift box, the entire room on screen brightens, and before you know it, a completed, warm Christmas scene unfolds inside the gallery shop window as well. The warm scene you have created will now pause the steps of another passerby and deliver a small warmth and happiness on the cold winter street.In this work, technology does not present itself overtly. Viewers operate no separate devices; their presence and movement alone generate change in the space. The act of becoming light on screen and illuminating objects transcends simple interaction — it proposes a sensory experience suggesting that someone's attention and willingness to linger can add warmth to the world. Warm Window transforms an easily overlooked winter shop window into a warm point of contact where audience and street, digital and physical space converge. 테크니컬 노트 - 최재호, 허재혁본 작품은 갤러리 쇼윈도우 외부의 디지털 화면과 내부의 물리적 오브제를 실시간으로 연동하는 인터랙션 시스템으로 구성된다. 관람객은 별도의 장치를 조작하지 않으며, 화면 앞에 서는 것만으로 상호작용이 시작된다.쇼윈도우 외부에 설치된 카메라는 YOLO(You Only Look Once) 기반 객체 인식 모델을 통해 관람객의 위치를 실시간으로 감지한다. 인식된 위치 데이터는 Unity 프로그램으로 전달되며, 화면 속 가상의 크리스마스 방 안에서 관람객의 움직임이 파티클 시스템을 통해 빛의 형태로 시각화된다. 관람객이 빛을 특정 오브제 위치에 일정 시간 머물게 하면, 해당 오브제에 빛이 충전되는 효과가 발생하고 활성화된다.가상 공간에서의 오브제 활성화는 서버를 통해 하드웨어 제어 시스템으로 전달된다. 쇼윈도우 내부의 실제 크리스마스 오브제들은 Arduino ESP32 기반의 릴레이 모듈에 연결되어 있으며, Unity에서 전송된 신호에 따라 개별 오브제의 전원이 순차적으로 제어된다. 마지막 단계에서 전체 공간의 조명이 점등되는 연출은 서보모터를 활용해 물리적 전원 스위치를 직접 작동시키는 방식으로 구현되었다.이 시스템은 디지털 인터페이스와 물리적 공간의 경계를 실시간으로 연결하는 구조를 취한다. 화면 속에서 관람객이 만들어낸 빛의 변화가 실제 공간의 조명으로 즉각 반영됨으로써, 가상의 행위가 현실의 결과로 이어지는 경험을 구축한다. 야간 시간대(오후 5시~오전 4시)의 장시간 운영을 고려해 시스템의 안정성과 반복적인 인터랙션 사이클의 초기화 처리에도 주의를 기울여 설계되었다. Technical NoteThis work consists of an interaction system that links the digital screen outside the gallery shop window with the physical objects inside in real time. Viewers operate no separate devices; the interaction begins simply by standing before the screen.A camera installed outside the shop window detects the viewer's position in real time using a YOLO (You Only Look Once)-based object recognition model. The recognized positional data is transmitted to a Unity program, where the viewer's movement is visualized as particles of light within a virtual Christmas room on screen. When the viewer guides the light to a specific object and lingers for a set duration, a charging effect is triggered and the object is activated.Object activation in the virtual space is relayed to the hardware control system via a server. The actual Christmas objects inside the shop window are connected to relay modules based on Arduino ESP32, and the power to each object is sequentially controlled according to signals sent from Unity. In the final stage, the lighting of the entire space is achieved by using a servo motor to physically operate the power switch.This system adopts a structure that bridges the boundary between digital interface and physical space in real time. The changes in light created by the viewer on screen are immediately reflected as real lighting in the physical space, constructing an experience in which virtual actions lead to tangible outcomes.
