ARTIJECTA ARCHIVES—first series, Threshold of Proliferation—is a concept-archive book that constructs the world of the data-derived immaterial lifeform “Artijecta” in a documentary format.In Yena Park’s recent practice—approaching artificial civilization as an ecology in its own right—the entity “Artijecta” emerges. Named by combining artificial, object, and data, this speculative construct adapts origin-of-life hypotheses (in which heated seawater catalyzed organic combinations) to a hyper-dense data ecology, asking how new life might arise within contemporary networks. Artijecta is not a mere fictional object nor a by-product of technological progress; it is a living hypothesis and ecological agent, born within human-made systems and proliferating by feeding on exponentially accumulated behavior patterns and data. Operating between a collapsing material world and an explosively fertile online milieu, it catalyzes the unseating of anthropocentric order.Neither a novel nor an academic paper, the book assembles a glossary, physiology charts, infection-mechanism sheets, fragments of field notes, fabricated reports, and evidentiary photographs into an anonymous dossier, presenting the question—how do data acquire vitality?—in the vocabulary of material evidence. Through this reference set, readers progressively deepen their understanding and immersion as Artijecta traverses the axes of signal–body–memory to cross the threshold of proliferation.The series aims to: (1) provide a shared baseline for the artist’s worldbuilding; (2) test a verifiable narrative form at the boundary of fiction and fact; and (3) offer reusable tools of reference within exhibition and research contexts. Designed as a mutable archive—readable as it is assembled, and archivable as it is updated—the book functions as a first packet of evidence anticipating the next chapter of inquiry.Within the archive, Artijecta’s identity remains plural: in some documents a virus of infection; in others a quasi-divine agent proposing a new mode of life; elsewhere a dangerous entity that should not be named. Provenance, era, and nationality are deliberately indeterminate. Heterogeneous papers, formats, and processes are mixed; the sequence remains variable. Each document can be gathered into a single ring-binder dossier yet remains separable and expandable, leaving the tactile impression of materials scattered and later compiled. On the cover, binder perforations and a faux ISBN conceal cipher codes that thicken the stratigraphy of the world.In sum, ARTIJECTA ARCHIVES is a proof-oriented instrument of worldbuilding that amplifies understanding and immersion, preserving and updating—through the tactile language of an assemblable dossier—the moment when data turns into life.
